Laguna Day Spa and Salon at 7440 Laguna Boulevard, Elk Grove, California.

My GF was generous enough to give me a couple of gift certificates to Laguna, each for a 1hr hot rock massage. So yesterday I phone and made an appointment for the first one at 1 PM. I don't live nearby, so I cut a pretty large hole in my day for this indulgence.
I arrived at 5 minutes to one and was greeted indifferently. I gave my name and appointment time and that was kind of it. No verbal response--just a head nod. So I took a seat.
It was pushing 100 degrees outside so I was disappointed that the water dispenser was empty.
As time ticked by I started to look at the decor. It was once pretty nice (before they added the reception counter and display case which didn't match), but time has definitely passed and the place could do with a refresh: everything was dulled by age, the floor finish was worn through to the concrete, the chairs' cushions had collapsed and the upholstery was worn through exposing the bare foam.
At 1:15 the woman in charge came out and said that I had made a mistake and that my appointment was at 1:30. The masseuse was with another client. I assured her I hadn't but what was I going to do. Had the person who "greeted" me said this at 12:55, I could have run an errand I need to do across the street.
At 1:35, I was told by the woman in charge that there had been an error and that the masseuse had meant the other salon. "What other salon?” I asked.
Well the masseuse is an independent contractor and works several salons.
When I showed her that I hadn't phoned the masseuse, but phoned the salon, she became agitated. "Well there's nothing (I) can do!)"
At this point she phones the masseuse and relayed that she couldn’t make it today, could I reschedule?
OK. Mistakes happen.
My peeves are:
They didn't pick up on immediately
They lied about the appointment being in the book at 1:30--it simply wasn't in the book.
They lied about the masseuse being with another client
They tried to put it off that the masseuse had given me the wrong salon. Another lie.
They never once apologized.
They never tried to make recompense or in any way make up for the fact that I just blew 2 hours on a work day.
